Differences between CBT4T-Mini and the CBT4T programme

Who the course is intended for

  • CBT4T-MINI: Is intended for individuals who have a small problem with tinnitus i.e. a Tinnitus Functional Index (TFI) Category 2: 18-31% small problem. Beyond that, CBT4T-Mini may be useful as a TASTER with a view to potential enrolment on the FULL CBT4T programme: a code is included to discount the cost of your purchase of CBT4T-Mini against either ONE or TWO appointments

  • CBT4T PROGRAMME: Specifically developed for individuals with a high scoring Tinnitus Functional Index (TFI):

    • Category 5: 73-100% very big problem

    • Category 4: 54-72% big problem

    • Category 3: 32-53% moderate problem

Accessing modules

  • CBT4T-MINI: You have access to all sections on enrolment - it is up to you how you make use of it. The best way to make use of CBT4T-Mini is to spend at least ONE WEEK at each module, rather than skipping through the content

  • CBT4T PROGRAMME: Each Stage has a set minimum time period based on the shortest amount of time needed to achieve the neurophysiological changes intended each of the Stages. Stages are opened at intervals that vary from 7-14 days

As you begin

  • CBT4T-MINI: It is recommended you complete ALL initial measures (Tinnitus Functional Index (TFI), Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI), GAD-7 (anxiety), PSS (stress) and ASQ (Anxiety/stress symptoms). You will receive a copy of your completed measures by return email, and once your results have been calculated, you'll receive those by email from Debbie Featherstone

  • CBT4T PROGRAMME: It is necessary to complete ALL measures (Tinnitus Functional Index (TFI), Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI), GAD-7 (anxiety), PSS (stress) and ASQ (Anxiety/stress symptoms), HSQ (Hearing Sensitivity), HAQ (Hyperacusis Assessment). You will receive an on-boarding initial report with all your results to keep for your own records. These are for comparison later at the end of Stage 4, Stage 6 and Stage 8

Progressing through the course

  • CBT4T-MINI: The best way to make use of CBT4T-Mini is to spend at least ONE WEEK at each module, rather than skipping through the content. Use the breath work and relaxation as detailed in the course content. You have access to the main practical CBT4T tools but they are not monitored

  • CBT4T PROGRAMME: Your progress is monitored, reviewed and your emails are responded to as needed. This includes monitoring, reviewing and responding by email as needed, dealing with:

    • Impact Statements (Past, Present, Future) - assessing trauma indicators, as where present, they are likely to have a bearing on the person's current level of nervous system dysregulation

    • Calculating initial assessments for an on-boarding report, and compiling each person's comparison reports (TFI, THI, GAD-7, PSS, ASQ, HSQ, HAQ) with reflective feedback at Stages 4 (the first appointment is sent with the Stage 4 report), 6 and 8

    • Daily Relaxation Logs

    • Progress Checks when a Stage is completed and a new one begun

    • The weekly SITREPs that arrive throughout the day each Friday

    • *Two Arrows practicals

    • *Costs & Benefits Transactions

    • *Cognitive Distortions Practicals

    • *Reaction Analysis
